Poland goalkeeper (Click to see More) Wojciech Szczesny was the hero for his country in their (Click to see More) 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia today. In their second game of the(Click to see More) world cup, Zielinski put Poland ahead by scoring from (Click to see More)Robert Lewandowski's pass in the 39th minute of the game. However, Poland found themselves in trouble as they conceded a penalty immediately after scoring.
Szczesny duly stepped up to save Al Dawsari's effort from 12 yards out. Lewandowski added a late second to seal the win for Poland but they largely owe that win to Szczesny.
The first goalkeeper that saved a spot kick in the tournament is Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. He kept out Lewandowski's penalty to help his side to a 0-0 draw with Poland.
The second goalkeeper to save a penalty in the ongoing tournament is Belgium's Thibaut Courtois. He saved Aphonso Davies' 10th minute penalty and help his side to a 1-0 win over the Canadians in their opening game of the tournament.
